Aluta greetings to our ever conscious UNIBEN Students.
In line with part viii , Section 29, sub section 8(a) and 8( b) of the Constitution of the Students’ Union, University of Benin, our desk has been filled with several alarming complaints of our students being molested, assaulted and unjustly treated by some retailers and miscreants, within and outside the University Campus.
Chief on the list of these dehumanizing treatments is the battery and assault against a student by an indigene within the BDPA residential area. With the prompt intervention of the union leadership however, the affected student is currently on the pathway to justice.
Meanwhile, we are not ignorant of the fact that many more students face similar pathetic ordeal. Against this background, I write to express my solidarity with all affected UNIBEN Students, and I urge you to report any such indignifying conducts of harassment, assault or molestation to the office of the Vice President, trusting that the UNION remains tirelessly committed to ensuring that the lives and properties of our students are protected.
